Wendell August Proudly Participates in Operation Grattitude

May 1st 2011

Operation Grattitude Wendell August's Exton store is proud to be participating in Operation Gratitude, through the month of May, Military Appreciation Month. For those of your unfamiliar with Operation Gratitude, they are a first class  organization that sends care packages to individual soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines deployed in battle. We are asking for your help by bringing in a letter for the troops or a Beanie Baby. Beanie Babies may seem like a strange request but the soldiers love them. They actually save their lives! How?  When a child in Afghanistan is given a  beanie baby from one of our troops, he or she will tell the soldiers where the bombs are hidden. In turn your old Beanie Baby collection can save the lives of our heroes rather than taking up storage space in our garage and attic! We are also accepting personalized unsealed letters to our troops that will be included in care packages. They are looking for upbeat and positive handwritten letters of thanks. No stamps or envelopes are needed so it is easy to write a letter and bring joy to our troops. In exchange for your letter or your Beanie baby Wendell August will give your one of our pieces as a gift. Tell your friends! We would love to have everyone in the area support this great cause. If you can’t make it to our store stop by the 1N Bank Hershey's Mill Office where our friends will also be collecting donations. As we continue in our celebration of our troops, be on the lookout for a promotions Wendell August will be having for Armed Forces day and Memorial Day as we salute the Military during the month of May.
