During this Valentine’s Day season, the “Love” theme takes center stage and I’m often reminded of the scripture verses in 1 Corinthians 13 defining love.  We hear this passage read at many weddings encouraging new spouses (and reminding us old ones) how to best love each other.  But how often I forget how to truly love as I get so caught up in the pressing issues of the moment. I want to be better this year at loving…loving my wife, our kids, my friends and colleagues at Wendell August, my friends outside of work, you…the wonderful folks who choose Wendell August to commemorate life’s special moments, and yes, even perfect strangers I come in contact with.  I pray that in 2015 I am more patient, kind, protecting, trusting, hopeful, and persistent.  I also hope that in 2015 that I am less envious, boastful, proud, rude, selfish, angry, and bitter. So as we all get ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day this weekend with fancy dinners out, flowers, cologne, jewelry…whatever…let’s not forget to live a life of love by celebrating the blessing of love every day with all around us…not just February 14^th.
