The 2018 Annual Plate "The Nutcracker Story" evokes the magic of a child's imagination on Christmas. As Clara holds her new toy, she has no idea what is in store for her. With the Sugar Plum Fairy looking on, and the Mouse King ready for battle, magic soon takes over. 2018 is the year of the Nutcracker at Wendell August Forge. Inspired by the 19th century children's story and ballet, young Clara is gifted a Nutcracker Prince and magic quickly ensues. Soon the Nutcracker comes to life and Clara is taken on a journey that leads to a battle with the Mouse King and a dance with the Sugar Plum Fairy. In the end, she becomes his queen in the Land of Sweets. The Nutcracker reminds us that a child's imagination on Christmas is a beautiful and magical place.
