When You Can’t Be Together Send an Uplifting Gift

Navigating social distancing is something we are all trying to figure out. We have been advised to avoid gathering in groups of more than 10 people; to avoid discretionary travel, shopping trips, or social visits; and not to go out to restaurants or bars.
Spending days or weeks at home with limited resources, stimulation and social contact can take a toll on our mental health. It is more important than ever to continue to strengthen relationships with those you love and care about. Sending a thoughtful gift may be what is needed to lift spirits in these uncertain times.
We’ve pulled together ideas on how to brighten the day of those who may need it the most right now.
For those who live alone
For a friend or family member who lives alone or in a nursing home, this can be a particularly lonely time. A phone call will go a long way, but an unexpected gift is something he or she can look at daily as a reminder of your thoughtfulness. An inspirational tray might be just the thing that can brighten a gloomy day.

For Families
For families With children home from school, and many people working at home, families are experiencing an abundance of togetherness. It is important to make time for daily family activities that help bring closeness and hope to a time of uncertainty. The prayer bowl is a wonderful gift for families. For New Parents
For expecting parents, or new moms, navigating this time is especially difficult. Baby showers are cancelled, and new families are sheltered without visitors. Even though you may not be able to attend a shower, or see a new baby in person, sending a thoughtful gift will show the new family that you are thinking of them.

Amid all of the disappointments for events that need to be cancelled due to the social distancing advisory is that of a wedding. With all of the planning that goes into the wedding, a postponed wedding is a disappointment to any bride.
