The Lord’s Prayer As An Example Of How To Pray

Mar 21st 2017

We are all children of God.  He loves us.  He knows our needs.  He wants us to have a deep relationship with Hi, and prayer is the way we communicate with God. Through prayer we draw near to God and our desires grow to be more like His desires.  Prayer is an act of faith wherein we can purposefully be in the presence of the Lord and Him with us. Jesus taught us how to pray in the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13.  In this simple prayer, Jesus shows us the ACTS of prayer.  The Lord's Prayer and the ACTS within are to guide is in our daily prayer life. As Jesus taught, prayer is a cornerstone of our ongoing and abiding faith.  The prayer bowl and prayer cards are a way to talk with God daily, and to help us to be an instrument of His peace. ACTS

As a Guide for How to Pray

A is for Adoration in Prayer.  In prayer we worship God and revel in the Lord's majesty, as shown in "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name." In prayer, we acknowledge that God is sovereign and holy and we praise Him.

C is for Confession. "Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." In prayer, we confess our wrongs to God, our Father through Christ.

T is for Thanksgiving. "For Thine is the Kingdom and power and the glory forever." In our prayer life, we are to be grateful for all He has done.

S is for Supplication. "Give us today our daily brad, and lead us not into temptation." We are so privileged to be able to talk directly with God.  He hears our prayer.  We can bring before the lord all of our humble and earnest requests, both for our personal needs and also the needs of others.

The Prayer Bowl

The Prayer Bowl and prayer cards are instruments to remind us and help us talk with God.  Use the cards by identifying specific prayer needs, completing the cards and placing them in the prayer bowl.  May your time in prayer grand you the peace that comes from God alone.
