Our 2012 Annual Plate is a barn on a crisp Christmas morning, enveloped by freshly fallen snow, a familiar scene across much of America. For this piece, artist Richard Bollinger chose to paint the historic barn that houses our own Wendell August store in Exton, Pennsylvania. He used his brush to turn back time, and painted the structure as it appeared more than one hundred years ago. The result- a timeless plate entitled “Winter Splendor”

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Wendell August has partnered with renowned Pennsylvania artist Richard Bollinger to create this captivating limited edition plate highlighting the beauty of eastern Pennsylvania. Bollinger’s art is represented in over 125 galleries across America. He has received numerous awards, and was selected by the United States Department of State “Arts in Embassies Program” which promoted and exhibited his work around the world.

ABOUT THE MASTER CRAFTSMAN: Master Die Engraver Dave Bruck transformed the beauty of Richard Bollinger’s painting into a die using the traditional technique of reverse engraving. Our metal artisans then forged “Winter Splendor” into this beautiful limited edition commemorative Christmas plate to enjoy for generations.
